ABOUT US

A mother daughter duo with a mission to give back.

Catherine and Oriana Lamarca are a mother-daughter entrepreneurial dynamic duo. Catherine Lamarca, the CEO and founder of Zagara Home,is an interior designer whose Italian heritage and love of design inspired the ZAGARA Home Collections. Catherine’s creations are borne out of her appreciation for fine textiles and heirloom linens reminiscent of those hand-embroidered by her Mother and Nonna. Following in her mother's footsteps, Oriana Lamarca is the CEO and founder of  Oriana Lamarca Designs. Oriana Lamarca Designs began as a “shopping addiction”, as she affectionately likes to call it. It organically grew into a bracelet making frenzy and eventually developed into a fully bloomed company in 2015. While Catherine’s passion is interiors and Oriana’s passion is fashion, they both share a common thread of Sicilian history and culture which inspire their every move.

As part of her mission to “Dream, Create, Inspire” Oriana launched her “Armcandy For A Cause” collection of bracelets as a way to give back. Oriana built her brand on transforming relationships from just a “customer” to a friend, someone they can trust with everything from fashion advice to food, travel and everything in between. Over the years she had the privilege of meeting so many special people, some who were fighting a silent battle. Oriana is a firm believer that people come in and out of our lives for a reason and she felt her mission was of a greater power to positively impact those lives. “Armcandy For A Cause” is a way to  acknowledge and honor those people by designing a custom bracelet in which the color of the stone and the charm represent the essence of the organization it is being dedicated to. Oriana then donates proceeds from the sale of each bracelet to the organization in an effort to raise funds and awareness for that specific cause.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Our mission is to bring Hope to those who have the Courage to fight every day. Because together, with a little Compassion, we can make them feel Loved in a way they never knew possible. Never lose Faith.

In 2015, the pair launched their Holiday Shopping Soirée and Fundraiser as a means to allow their customers to have access to touch and feel their products first hand all while helping to support the local community that had supported them. Over the years, the event has grown to include entertainment such as celebrity appearances, a fashion show, DJ, fresh food donated by local restaurants and cocktails not to mention a red carpet.

The event is held in November to kick off the holiday shopping season in hopes that people will not only support a small business but help a good cause while doing so. Each year the women select a charity of their choice of which they have a connection to and donate a portion of the sales. Their mission is to create a connection between their guests and those benefiting from the donation. “There are so many fundraisers during the holiday season and as much as I love to give back, I always felt that the donations may end up in a black hole. My mission is to bring my customers face to face with the organization or family that they are helping” ~ Oriana

This year, With the power of social media, Oriana had been in contact with the family of a little boy named Lino Benso. Despite a healthy pregnancy, Lino suffered from hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) in which he had no heartbeat for his first 8-10 minutes of life. During that time his brain received little to no oxygen and blood causing a multitude of lesions and other complications during birth. As a result, parts of his brain had died causing serious brain injury, most of which is related to his fine motor skills. Namely, his mouth & tongue, making it difficult to eat and his fingers & wrists, making it difficult to open a flat hand or grab items. His gross motor skills affected include his arms & legs making it difficult to bend or extend and his trunk & neck making it difficult to hold his head or body upright. But his fine and gross motor skills are just the tip of the iceberg. Other parts of his brain were affected as well and he has had numerous diagnoses in just 20 months, ones that would leave him with a battle to fight every day for the rest of his life.
